Research and fellowship grants

Every year, organisations across the world offer grants for research and capacity building programmes for individuals interested in taking their careers to the next level. However, finding the right research grant depends entirely on discipline, geographic location, and career stage. We have therefore listed a few high-impact funding opportunities to aid the growing quest for career advancement within the Caleb University community and beyond.

• Women Environmental Programme (WEP) Opens 2026 Seed

This grant is open to women-led organizations in Nigeria and Sierra Leone. • DAAD Research Grants in Germany 2027 for PhD and Post-doctoral Researchers

The research grant offers the opportunity to realise a research project in Germany. During a doctorate programme, funding is available for 2 to 12 months for international students and researchers. It also supports research stays during a doctorate or in the early post-doctoral phase. Stipends start at €1,300/month for PhDs and €1,300–€1,750/month for postdocs, with travel and insurance coverage. • ERC awards Proof of Concept Grants to 182 researchers

The European Research Council (ERC) is the premier European funding organization for frontier research. The ERC, backed by the Horizon Europe programme, awards grants to top investigators across all fields based purely on scientific excellence. • IWMF Kari Howard Fund for Narrative Journalism 2026

The Kari Howard Fund for Narrative Journalism awards annual grants in support of proposals to report and publish compelling human stories. The International Women Media Foundation (IWMF) provides grants up to $5,000 for women and non-binary journalists worldwide. • Michael & Susan Dell Foundation Grants 2026
